Singer/songwriter Emily James gives us chills on her new single about trying to move on with a new partner. Her vocals dance softly over moody production with her lyrics immediately striking deep from the first line: "I kissed someone else tonight for the first time since you." She's also worked in thunderstorm samples to set the scene for lines like: "a lightning like ours only strikes once I'm sure." Chills is the third single from her forthcoming EP and we can't wait to hear the rest!

Oddcube, previously known as Wolfsnare, released his first single "Gumball" last year. Check out this cool interview with him on QR Network. Nashville-based indie pop duo The Roosevelts have released a smooth, groovy new love song called "Trippin' on Your Love". The track features infectious vocal melodies over evolving, fun production with elements reminiscent of the likes of Spandau Ballet's True. They are currently in the studio working on their debut album.
Ella Eyre has teamed up with producers Banx & Ranx and singer Kiana Ledé for her first single for 2019, "Mama", a saucy number about: "standing up for yourself and making sure that if your relationship ends, your ex doesn't get away with telling a bunch of lies to a family you care about." The energetic track has a rhythmic dancehall-like beat over 808s and big vocal & synth accents, but the spotlight is by far stolen by the fantastic lead vocals, especially with the attitude Eyre injects on lines like: "You do me like Judas / You think I'm a fool-ah / Should've left you sooner!"
The single comes after her return from a writing trip in Jamaica which she talks about among other things in a recent interview with Lorraine - watch below. She says: "Returning to Jamaica has been a huge game changer for me and my outlook as an artist. It's where my dad grew up and to be given the chance to record there with some of my best friends has been such an incredible experience."
If you're looking for something with more of an electronic beat, then check out some of the new remixes for the track from the likes of Disciples, Just Kiddin, Herve Pagez and Simon Hardy. We can't wait to hear more from her including the announcement of her next tour!
Amsterdam-based DJ/producer The Axe has re-worked his debut single "Secrets" giving it a slick new coat of electro pop production. The track ties in guitars with the electronic production and features alluring vocals from Michaela Shiloh, a.k.a. MRS. The Axe first got into music after joining a marching band at ten. Eventually he saved up enough for a drum kit at home and he's never looked back since.
UK-based rapper Broughton takes us back up to the clouds on his chill hip hop single "Re-Up". The track has a hazy, lofi instrumental with a filtered vocal melody, loungey chords and a punchy beat underneath Broughton's even punchier vocals. Broughton is also part of the duo NQH with fellow rapper Brydon and in March the two released their first official single together called "Gangrene P III". If you're looking for something more downtempo, check out Broughton's more recent single "Isolate".
Que Believe's funky new single shows us that diamonds come in many forms. The song is about being grateful for the blessings we have and sharing kindness with others, especially those less fortunate. He's used the video clip to highlight poverty and homelessness and encouraged fans to submit video responses where they go out and share acts of kindness in their community. The song has a groovin' bassline underneath Que's hip hop vocals building to a catchy chorus.
Producer duo KDL have teamed up with singer Ferras for their burning hot new electro pop single 777. Emotive electronic production gives the song a driving, trancey atmosphere, while Ferras holds nothing back, delivering passionate vocals about going all-in on love.
Over the past few years Ferras has written music for Adam Lambert, Ricky Martin and Katy Perry. We'd love to hear more of his voice and collaborations, especially with KDL!
Johannesburg-born, New York-based artist Lenkie brings us her gorgeous debut single "Flower Girls". The track features her soulful vocals and acoustic-like guitar playing as she delicately tells the story of someone that gave her strength, singing: "These daffodils would look lovely in your curls, darling don't be shy, there's no-one else here to hear your cries but me, and I'm listening to you... Come on, let's be flower girls." With her powerful vocals and intimate style, she's one to keep an ear out for!
