Something a little lighter for Halloween... French and American alt folk duo Freedom Fry have released a super catchy, lovely tune about undying love. The track has an upbeat bopping rhythm underneath Marie and Bruce's unfazed-by-death duet vocals. "If you die, you're gonna be my zombie love." Sydney-based artist LX Mason has made his debut with an empowering electro-pop single called "I Don't". As he explains, "There are a few people that I would hate to disappoint. But this song ISN'T for those people. I think it's important, maybe even healthy, to make sure that you separate the two. It's not fun trying to be a people pleaser." Mason's fantastic vocals feel personal and real, and the lightly dancey production is a perfect compliment.
San Diego-based artist J Lisk's latest single "Can't Forget You" is a chilled out electronic piece that reflects on love and the necessity of change. The track makes use of softly sung vocals and pitched up vocal chops with ethereal production and a future-bass-esque lead synth in the chorus.
"Static" is the first single off high-energy Canadian punk band Spirit of the Wildfire's upcoming album "Bittersweet Nothings" due out November 2018. It's anything but static though with catchy melodies, passionate vocals, a relatable theme and a tight mosh-inducing performance.
Guitarist Jayson LeMoine explains the track is about change and "running into someone you were friends with when you were at a different part of your life, like high school or something, and not really knowing what to say or how to connect, seeing that they notice you and pretend not to. So you do the same."
Go trolley surfing with them in their new video clip for the track below.
"lift me from the ground" features on San Holo's fantastic new full-length album titled "album1". Known for adding electric guitar to his electronic productions, he's expertly crafted this song around a guitar riff. The track has a lofi simplicity yet big atmosphere and pretty melody, particularly with Sofie Winterson's gorgeous uplifting vocals.
San Holo wrote: "'lift me from the ground' is a song i wrote to describe the feeling of meeting somebody who makes you feel like you're floating. it started out as a little melody I played on guitar, you can still hear it in the first part of the song right after the vocals kick in. I wanted this song to be something with a big drop but not with a typical trap beat that you might expect from me. I've been playing this song out live for a while already and it always feels great."
San Holo is currently on tour in support of the album with shows throughout the U.S., Canada and at FOMO Festival in Australia. Tickets are available on his website.
Melodic dubstep heavyweight Seven Lions has teamed up with SLANDER, Dabin and Dylan Matthew for their sweet song "First Time". Listening to it feels like a beautiful fairy tale ending to a long-running romance and instead of soft guitar and violins, it's with euphoric electronic music and confetti falling and everyone's trying not to cry with happiness for them. "Feels like I'm falling for the first time". Awwwwww <3
Dark alt rock band Holy Wars have released their first single since their debut EP "Mother Father" last year. The track has a gritty, shadowy synthwave feel led by frontwoman Kat Leon's fantastic vocals which complete the haunting atmosphere. Prior to releasing the track, Leon and fellow bandmate Nicolas Perez were hard at work composing for TV trailers, which helped to inspire the theatrical feel to the new song.
