Ella Eyre, Banx & Ranx - Mama ft. Kiana Ledé
Ella Eyre has teamed up with producers Banx & Ranx and singer Kiana Ledé for her first single for 2019, "Mama", a saucy number about: "standing up for yourself and making sure that if your relationship ends, your ex doesn't get away with telling a bunch of lies to a family you care about." The energetic track has a rhythmic dancehall-like beat over 808s and big vocal & synth accents, but the spotlight is by far stolen by the fantastic lead vocals, especially with the attitude Eyre injects on lines like: "You do me like Judas / You think I'm a fool-ah / Should've left you sooner!"
The single comes after her return from a writing trip in Jamaica which she talks about among other things in a recent interview with Lorraine - watch below. She says: "Returning to Jamaica has been a huge game changer for me and my outlook as an artist. It's where my dad grew up and to be given the chance to record there with some of my best friends has been such an incredible experience."
If you're looking for something with more of an electronic beat, then check out some of the new remixes for the track from the likes of Disciples, Just Kiddin, Herve Pagez and Simon Hardy. We can't wait to hear more from her including the announcement of her next tour!
