3LAU - Close (Boy Hero Version)
Los Angeles-based post-hardcore band Boy Hero have put out a fantastic cover of electronic producer 3LAU's song "Close", giving it their powerful rock treatment. The track has an emotional swell particularly with Dan Rudd's passionate vocals. Driving percussion, guitars and a ripping chorus riff bring the energy like a tidal wave. The band are donating all proceeds from the streams and sales of the song to the charity F**k Cancer.
The band wrote: "This release is very near and dear to us. In 2014, Daniel's mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. After 6 rounds of chemo and 18 rounds of radiation, in 2015 her doctors informed her she was in remission. Cancer is a horrible and unrelenting disease. We are more than happy to do our part in the constant battle against it. We hope you will join us in saying 'F**k Cancer'". You can stream and buy the track here.
The Trusted - Cigarettes And Chandeliers
Trust "The Trusted" to deliver solid guitar-fueled rock. Their latest single "Cigarettes and Chandeliers" kicks off with a heavy riff sure to grab your attention, then the band grooves through the verse with excellent percussion and bass. The breakdown adds suspense with screaming lead guitar under vocalist Tom Cunningham's dynamic vocals.
Cunningham says of the inspiration for the track: "Cigarettes and Chandeliers is a song about the messy side of vanity and power. It all started with the riff, we stumbled across it, instantly fell in love with it and then built the rest of the song around it. Lyrically, it came together very quickly. I took inspiration from a couple of bigheaded guys we met at a few different parties. It's definitely a much darker song compared to our last single, 'No Real Control'".
Hotel Garuda - One Reason (feat. Imad Royal & Kiah Victoria)
Mumbai-born, Los Angeles-based producer Hotel Garuda has teamed up with fellow producer Imad Royal and singer Kiah Victoria for their new chill dance pop single "One Reason". The song is, as Hotel Garuda explains, "about the feeling of wanting to stay together no matter what, and wanting to find a way to work it out regardless of your obstacles." The track starts off with softly bobbing atmosphere underneath Victoria's beautiful vocals. The track then builds into a rhythmic, dancey vocal-chop chorus.
Rogue - Badlands
Joining Monstercat once again on their fifth compilation album for popular vehicular soccer video game Rocket League is UK-based producer Rogue with his new future bass single "Badlands". The track quickly breaks into heavy beats and huge, energetic atmosphere fit for a stadium of fans watching your ultimate showdown. You can easily imagine a crowd cheering along. Rogue wrote on Twitter: "Hearing my own music on @RocketLeague feels almost as good as nailing that ceiling shot... Hope this one makes you feel good too!"
The new Rocket League album is currently available for pre-order with a planned release date of November 30th. The album will also feature fellow artists: Grant, SMLE, Rootkit, Hyper Potions and Nokae and CloudNone.
MORTEN - Tonight I'm Loving You (feat. Reo Cragun)
Electronic producer MORTEN and hip hop artist Reo Cragun have teamed up for their alluring new reggaeton pop single "Tonight I'm Loving You". Cragun's smooth, strong vocals take the spotlight while MORTEN's spot on production provides the beat and warm bass. The track will have you swaying to the beat and dirty dancing into the sunset.
