San Francisco-based DJ/producer HIGHSOCIETY has teamed up with vocalist Amy Kirkpatrick for their mesmerizing new single "Fake". The track features echoing synths in the verses and turns up the heat in the dancey chorus, with Kirkpatricks' vocals lending the track a dark, ethereal quality. Kirkpatrick wrote on Instagram: "I wanted to write a track about how we crave false limited connections sometimes, for a quick fix that we know won't last, but take a dose of it anyways. It's about conscious manipulation against our instincts (by ourselves or others), to have something momentary instead of diving deeper. Wanting the fake flowers in the now, instead of waiting in patience for the real ones to grow roots and bloom. Because doesn't that quick fake fix just feel damn good sometimes.. until it doesn't."

On the album he talks about exploration from his perspective of growing up in Jakarta to moving to the U.S. alone at 17, to success and touring and to inspiring others to "explore" too. On the triumphant brass and drums track "Kids" he shows his passion and vision and expresses gratitude for his opportunities, including signing with label 88rising. He even recently got to play the song when he met Indonesia's president, Joko Widodo. Brian describes it as: "a victory song for kids of both sides of the world" with empowering lines like: "Might steal the mic at the GRAMMYs just to say we won / That everyone can make it, don't matter where you from." Genius recently did a great feature on him and label 88rising which you can watch below.
DJ/producer Elderbook and four-piece Rudimental have teamed up for their chilled out electro pop single "Something About You". The track features tender vocals over minimal, dancey production. The video clip is a powerful part of the song, spotlighting men's mental health and doing away with harmful norms about masculinity. It reassures men that they aren't alone and that they can be both strong and vulnerable. Rudimental posted on social media asking people to share clips of themselves doing the dance from the video clip with the hashtag #TogetherIsStronger, "to show that we're stronger together."
French-American artist Ariane has put out an alluring, dark-tinged electro pop single called "Sweatshirt". The production incorporates elements of synthwave and industrial sound design while remaining completely slick pop. Ariane's entrancing vocals are equally honed with her pointed lyrics and catchy melodies. She said of the song's inspiration: "This song is about a toxic relationship; the kind where you know you should let go but you still hold onto the fantasies and the objects left behind. I think most of us have been in that uncomfortable place at least once in our lives."
The track is her fourth release in the lead up to her upcoming debut album "Original Copy". Follow her Instagram for upcoming shows, news and more.

English artist Will Callan makes quite an impression with his catchy electro pop debut "Losing Our Minds". Callan's fantastic vocals lead the track confidently through the verses to a falsetto bridge before dropping into a banging trap-style chorus. Callan wrote of the song's theme: "When I first started writing 'Losing Our Minds', I felt the song was about good times and having fun. But after connecting more with the lyrics, I really feel like the song is about letting yourself go and falling in love with the positive things in life, instead of focusing on the negatives. And what better way to do that, than with the one you love."
In addition to singing, Callan also plays guitar and piano and writes and produces. Check out his Instagram for some behind the scenes content and great cover songs he sings from time to time. Losing Our Minds is the first track to be released from his upcoming EP.

The track has bouncy, chilled production building to a charming chorus crafted around Hahn's sweet harmonized vocals. Speaking on how the song came about, Hahn wrote: "Ben and I built the whole song around the first two lines of the chorus. We sat on it for months and the story finally fell into place, landing us in this sweet space that echoes the dance of going back and forth with someone.". With quality like this, we look forward to hearing more from them soon!
Mysterious electronic producer KLOUD sends a warning to the human race on their dramatic new electro house single "Humans". KLOUD wrote on Facebook: "HUMANS, the most intelligent yet destructive beings on this planet... full of so much potential that even I exist. I find it hard to come to terms that with the limited resources available and the increasing number of people, that you can't find a way to get along. Every human I've analyzed has emotion and a thirst for life, that doesn't change; your skin and ideals are small differences in the vast similarities you all have. It's time for humans to start caring about one another. You are all similar, and if you don't start working together, it's all over."
The track features overdriven, retro-futuristic synths, glitchy vocals with powerful lyrics and intense production that builds to an energetic melodic drop. The single marks KLOUD's 14th release on Trap Nation's label Lowly.
